Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection will Add New Minigame in Day 1 Patch

While day 1 patches are now commonplace in games nowadays, they’re usually meant for ironing out last-minute bugs found in pre-launch beta tests or by the in-house QA team. In the case of Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection, Capcom will be using a day 1 patch to add a minigame to the title.
Z Chaser is a brand-new minigame created specifically for speedrunners and those with competitive spirits. The patch will add the minigame’s online component — World Record Chaser — which will allow players the chance to climb up the leaderboards and become a world record holder.
Here’s the official announcement:
Heads up, heroes – a small patch will launch along with Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection that primarily adds online components for Z Chaser, namely World Record Chaser and online leaderboards so you can chase online rivals all around the world! pic.twitter.com/VG6ne4mA1H

It’ll be interesting to see whether a few unknowns can get discovered for holding onto the world record with their name displayed for all owners of the game to see. Maybe we’ll even get to see the game come to events like Games Done Quick to give fans of the Blue Bomber a pleasant treat while raising money for charity.
Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection launches on February 25th for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Switch.
